I don't review often, but we have received exceptional service from McVay. We had them out to scope a sewage line and replacing a broken hose bibb and gate valve. They were able to schedule us for the next business day, showed up on time, explained the work very well, and were impressively fast completing the work. The price was reasonable and since they sent two teams on the same day they waived the second dispatch fee. Very happy and would call them for future plumbing work.

Jake came quickly (30 minutes), and located and fixed our emergency. He communicated to us what he was doing, explained the options, and how it would affect the pricing. No complaints other than the cost— As a weekend emergency, it wasn’t cheap, but that is to be expected.

Edit: I had to take the stars down. If I am remembering correctly, McVay used to include the fee for coming out in the service or waive it if services were provided . Now, they’re charging $70 just to show up, with any actual service costing extra. Why am I being charged $70 for something that’s essential to running your business? You have to travel to do your job—how does that become an extra fee for me, especially when the distance isn’t significant?

McVay has done several jobs for us over the years. They are always available and always do a fantastic job!

Had an excellent experience with McVay Plumbing. Mike came out to replace our gas main service line, and he was absolutely awesome from start to finish. He started the job right at 8am and didn’t finish until 8pm — not because of any fault on his part, but due to some delays caused by the gas company. Still, Mike powered through and kept working until it was dark, making sure everything was done right. He even stayed late to put in the cement and properly close up the hole. Truly professional, dedicated, and hardworking. Highly recommend Mike and McVay Plumbing!

Added 6/24/24 - I am very happy with the new split A/C unit that was installed today. The technicians, Rob F., Ryan K. and Luke, where very polite, very professional and very neat. Everything was thoroughly explained, and all features were demonstrated. This was scheduled as a 2-day job but was done in 1 day with excellent results. I have used McVay Plumbing for years and am very happy that they have branched out to A/C & Heating as well as Electric. Now, I will use them for all of these needs!

To anyone who has to replace their sewer system I highly recommend this company. From start to finish they were extremely knowledgeable, professional and on time. The job was finished in two and a half days as they said it would be. Before they left they made sure everything was clean and to my satisfaction. My heat stop working. They were able to get me a technician early the next morning because of my schedule. Which was fine but when the technician got here he manage to properly access the problem (inducer blower). He was not able to get it working said I needed to replace it or a new furnace. Gave me the estimate to have it fixed and recommended possibly replacing the furnace all together. My rating is based on him not being able to get it temporarily started. Right after he left I managed to get it started and it is still running 5 days later until I can have it replaced and not rush to make a decisions.

On Feb 15, 2025, when my sewer line backed up, I was praying that it was one of those basic things where they could snake the line and clear the clog. However, since I’m living in a 100-year-old house, I wasn't so lucky. Turns out the issue was a collapsed terracotta pipe, and the location was about 6 feet outside of the house and 8 feet down right underneath my concrete walk. So, I started the process of looking for a company to excavate and replace the line. I called numerous companies looking for someone that would be truthful and resolve the issue at a fair price. And, after reviewing all the estimates, there was one company I decided to use, but for some reason was hesitant to accept their offer. Thankfully, I made one more call and had McVay Plumbing come out for an estimate. I am INCREDIBLY happy I made that call! Adam (the Supervisor) was extremely thorough in reviewing the problem and its location. He explained to me exactly where the other companies were flat out lying to me regarding their assessments, and, found out additional information about the line that no one else noticed. By the end of our conversation, my comfort level had risen exponentially, and I gave McVay Plumbing the job. The price was fair and when the crew showed up to work, they were friendly, respectful, and diligent in their work. I did have a concern about my chain link fence being torn apart because it was in the “dig” zone. Josh and his crew took great care in removing the fence, the excavation, the repairing of the pipe, and putting everything back. One part of the project that is not yet complete is the repair of the concrete and they will come back in the spring to do that. I absolutely recommend using McVay Plumbing for your project and the next issue that pops up for me, I’ll be calling as well!

We've used McVeigh Plumbing and Heating since we moved into this house in the 2010s. We have never been disappointed in quality of service or of the work that they do. They are an excellent company to have work done by. We will stick with this company because they are excellent at engaging with customers. They are very diligent in their jobs and they are great in their work performance and ethics. All people who work for them are excellent and easy to deal with as well as honest.
